“United We Roar” is Atlanta’s soccer anthem. It’s a genre-bending track that pulls from Atlanta hip-hop, HBCU drumlines, Dembow, salsa, cumbia and the many cultures that make up the Atlanta of today. Celebrating its 16th year, the BronzeLens Film Festival has established Atlanta as a vital center for multicultural cinema, spotlighting powerful storytelling from filmmakers of color. Founded in 2010 by Kathleen Bertrand (born from a vision at the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau), the festival has grown into a year-round movement featuring curated screenings, workshops, panels, and community events—all with a mission to elevate Black and diverse voices in film. Highlights of the 2025 festival include screenings and workshops, the Women Superstars Honors, the Filmmakers Ball, and the BronzeLens Awards, taking place August 20–24.

The Atlanta Ice Cream Festival is celebrating its 15th year. The 2025 festival is free and takes place July 25, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s not just about dessert — there is a Wellness Zone. Founder Kevin James created the festival to celebrate joy, community and holistic wellness. Black-owned and local businesses are a big part of the experience.
