Spearheading the First Spanish Edition of The Northeast Georgian
In 2020, Daniela Cintron led the publication of The Northeast Georgian’s first-ever Spanish edition — a special extra issue printed after more than 125 years. The goal was clear and vital: to serve the underserved Spanish-speaking communities in small-town North Georgia during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the only Spanish-speaking member of the team and a Hispanic professional deeply connected to the culture, Daniela took on every task necessary to bring the edition to life — from reporting and copyediting to translating and coordinating with local businesses for distribution. The edition reflects her dedication and was made possible by a committed team that trusted her despite language barriers.
