From reporting to distribution logistics…
In 2020, I had the honor of spearheading the publication of the first Spanish edition of The Northeast Georgian, an extra edition.
After over 125 years, the press ran a paper entirely in Spanish. The goal was to serve and include the underserved Spanish-speaking community in the small towns of North Georgia during the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemia.
As the only Spanish-speaking team member and a Hispanic individual with a deep understanding of the culture, I immersed myself in completing every task necessary to distribute the free publications to our community.
From reporting to copyediting, translating, and even connecting with local businesses for the proper distribution of the newspaper, those papers have a big piece of me. I worked with an incredible team who, regardless of not speaking the language, trusted me and gave their all.
